Allan’s mother and sisters couldn’t make it to my bridal shower last month, so on Sunday they held another party for me and Allan. It was a much bigger event than I’d anticipated; several of Allan’s aunts, uncles and cousins showed up to wish us well and shower us with far more gifts than we could carry (I think there are still some down in the car even after a couple loaded-up trips). I just had to get a picture of this gift from Tammi (Allan’s sister, and one of my bridesmaids)
It’s a towel cake, which apparently is a thing that people do but I’ve never seen one before. This design is actually shockingly similar to our actual wedding cake, considering Tammi doesn’t know what our real cake will look like. I haven’t had the heart to take it apart and use the towels yet.
Here’s a photo of me and Allan at the big party:

I was just going to say that. “Diaper cakes” means something different in this house. Kind of ruins it for me.

I’m glad you had another shower – one can never have too many.
